The Australian Industry and Defence Network - WA (AIDN-WA) is an industry association which provides networking, information and support for its members with the primary objective of assisting them to obtain a share of the billions of dollars spent by the Defence Organisation each year.

Its members include both prime contractors and small to medium enterprises with an interest in Defence business opportunities. Its Executive includes representation from the Defence Materiel Regional Business Access Office, the Industrial Capability Network (ICN) and the Dept of Industry and Resources (DOIR).

AIDN-WA is a chapter of a national body (AIDN) that seeks to promote a capable and sustainable Australian Defence industry.  AIDN is endorsed by the Federal Government and is actively supported by the State and Territory Governments.

'AIDN- WA Young Achiever of the year award' 2008

WA chapter of the Australian Industry and Defence Network launched its Young Achiever Award in June with the Hon Francis Logan, Minister for Energy, Industry and Enterprise officiating.

AIDN WA President, Graham Priestnall, outlined the purposes of Young Achiever. The competition, he said, is open to employees of industry under 30 years of age and seeks to recognise those who are making a significant contribution to the Defence industry. Entrants don’t have to work for member companies but must be nominated by a member company.

All finalists will receive a plaque and the winner will receive a momentum and air travel and accommodation to participate in the National finals. The winner of the national competition will be presented with a complimentary pass to the next Defence + Industry Conference and special training opportunities through the Defence Materiel Office.
